The awesome company manifesto

Incorporating a company is an easy process. However, to create an awesome company is another issue. 

What is then an awesome company? 
How do you measure awesomeness? 
Does profitability makes a company awesome?

I still remember when I worked in a small medium legal firm, doing corporate loan documentations. I was in my room looking at the ceiling not because I have nothing to do but I am thinking what am I doing at that very moment. You need to understand something when you work for some one else. Most of the ‘dinosaur’s era’ companies/ firms, profitability is the main objective their existence. I do not have the time for my self. If I want to do charity, it need to be outside the office hour. Your company may engage in a CSR activities but you can smell the ‘fakeness’ miles and miles away.. The company ‘welcome’ new ideas but all the ideas will be kept nicely in a folder. Company always says that they value their employee but then treat their employee just like money printing machine. 

I do not have the satisfaction with my job. I want to create great things.

It is time to stop being a boss and start to be a leader and create many more leaders.

Although I am not going to be a hypocrite and deny this objective, but this should not be the main reason for your existence. Yes, you need money to run your business, to pay the bills, and to keep your company afloat. However, when you only sees the dollar (or ringgit) sign in every action that you take, you fail to create value of your company.

Again, what is the value of your company? 

I am not referring to the valuation of your company but rather the core values of your company. 

A company very existence should based on advancing the wealth of the society. A company should strive to make the society live better. 

How do you make the society better?

A society can be better financially and spiritually. By giving fair wages and benefit to some part of the member of the , it will create a cycle of income to the society as a whole.

However, the most pertinent is to use the company to develop the person who works with the company.; making them a better person not only for the company but also to the society. The core values such as respect, hard work, creativity, transparency, teamwork, accountability,  social responsibilities, and leadership makes a person better. A company can develop this core values by shaping and maintaining the right culture to nurture theses values in their company. All in the company will see that they serve a higher purpose than just completing their job but they are there to create and build something awesome, something great; together. 

They are making history and not just making up the numbers.

Once you have all these core values firmly entrenched in your company, you are ready to create an awesome company, both financially and spiritually..

I believe that we should not only crate a profitable company, we should strive to create an awesome company based these core values.

There should be no Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), 5ass and those bureaucratic standard.


Just good core values should be sufficient.
