28 days to Kuching Marathon 2017

28 days to Kuching Marathon 2017!

The Challenge

Lot of thing to be done. I’m still recovering from my hyperthyroid and after one month break for fasting month, I slowly picking up my fitness. I must say it is lot harder to be back where I am before. My illness really hit me hard. I really struggled with my fitness. Simple stretching routine is no longer a routine.

But hey, no pain no gain. Its a blessing of disguise. The illness may hit my fitness, but it also take away some kilos from my body. I ust have to add few kilos up to my ideal body weight and maintain on that. It is not how hard you fall, it is how high you bounce back that matters.

Bouncing back

I signed up for 42.2km category as I did 50km trail run before. I guess road running is easier than trail running. Well that was before my thyroid became haywire. For the past 3 weeks will run short distance of 11km every Wednesday. On Saturday, I will push my self further towards 42.2km. Until now, I just managed to complete 21km.

Perhaps I need relook at my preparation, especially on my diet. More carbo, fruits and nuts. Water intake to stay hydrated. I also will scrap Wednesday run and just focus on running on Saturday. That will give more rest and time to recover after a gruelling running session on Saturday. I just maintain strength workout every other day to keep up my fitness.

Let’s try this for a week and see how it goes
